Or maybe they knocked on your door in your rent-stabilized building in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, where gentrification is a touchy subject.
The pitch goes something along the lines of, “we’d like you to participate in buying up the vibrant and dynamic neighborhood you love and helped create.”
