WATCH: Women in the World visits L.A. for annual Salon

Women in the World held its annual L.A. salon Tuesday night at Neuehouse Hollywood on Sunset Boulevard. The event was streamed live on our Facebook page and complete footage of all of the panels can be seen above.

The salon kicked off with opening marks from Women in the World founder and CEO Tina Brown, who then led a panel discussion with three powerhouse women on how to seize the momentum, unleash action and move the women’s agenda forward. Carmen Perez, the national co-chair for the Women’s March and executive director, The Gathering for Justice, Tamika Mallory, national co-chair for the Women’s March and founder of Mallory Consulting, and Rabbi Sharon Brous, senior and founding rabbi of IKAR, joined Brown onstage for a lively conversation on advancing the momentum put into motion by the Women’s March on Washington.

In the evening’s second panel, “Paris on the Brink,” author, media commentator, and founder of Women for Women International, Zainab Salbi interviewed Samia Hathroubi, a French Muslim activist, about the fight against Islamic extremism.

Next up, Stephanie Abrams, senior producer and correspondent for Circa Cares and founder of Give Back PR, along with Lisa McQueen, media manager for Toyota Motor Sales, Inc., revealed the 2017 Toyota Mother of Invention: Komal Dadlani, the founder of Lab4U.

Rounding out the evening, Tina Brown returned to the stage for “The Transformer” panel in which she went one-on-one with transgender activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi. India is one of just 11 countries that recognize the third gender — and Tripathi is the gender warrior who convinced India’s Supreme Court to think beyond male and female.
